Here's How the Site Works

  1. Add your contacts through any combination of syncing, importing or manually entering them.
  2. Invite your contacts that are not already BlackBook Mobile™ members to join the site.
  3. Share your number with the people you want to, and deny those not deserving of it.

Important Things to Remember

  • To request someone’s number, you simply click on Pound Icon, and a text message is sent to that person’s cell phone. If they accept, you will receive a text message with their number and their information will automatically be transferred into your BlackBook.
  • We don’t share your number, that’s up to you
  • Numbers are not given out freely. When a number is requested, the owner of that number has the ability to accept, deny or block that request.
    • Accept - The number is shared through text or email, then the information is automatically uploaded to each user's BlackBook.
    • Deny - The request is denied.
    • Block - The request is denied and the requester will be blocked from ever contacting that individual again through our site.

Groups

Grouping your contacts is any easy way to mass-communicate with your contacts. You could then create a group titled “Knitting Group”, and add each of them into the group. Then, say you …

  • For instance, you have eight friends who regularly get together to knit sweaters on Tuesday nights. But say you need to cancel, or change the venue or move the meeting time up an hour. Within your “Knitting Group” that you created, you’re able to send out one text which they will all receive.

Privacy

  • You have the ability to approve or deny any number request that is sent to you. No information is exchanged unless you accept.
  • You can make yourself private throughout the network so no one will ever find you.
  • You can make yourself private in any other person’s BlackBook that has your information listed.
  • You have the ability to make any individual in your BlackBook private.
